The Department of Arabic was established in the year 1991 and was restricted to teaching the subject at the F.Y.B.A. level. It spread its wings into the Commerce faculty in 1992. Arabic is taught as a general subject at the S.Y.B.A. and T.Y.B.A. level. From the academic year 2011-2012, Arabic is also offered as an optional subject at the S.Y.BSc level. The Arabic department has many students coming from Saudi, Oman, Dubai, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Africa etc. The department organises various programmes for the students and encourages them to participate actively.
