The Department of Computer Application under the science faculty was established in 2017. The department strives to mould students into academically competent and professionally motivated individuals equipped with the right skills and values that foster a scientific temper along with a sense of social responsibility. The aim is to provide students with an education that will prepare them for careers as software and IT professionals. The department has highly qualified faculty and excellent infrastructure. The BCA program is a three year course that combines Computer and Applied subjects from the Science stream. The syllabus incorporates current trends in the field of Information Technology namely Python Programming, R Programming , Advanced Java, Data Analytics, Network Security, Android Programming, Internet of Things(IoT) etc. Adding to the university curriculum, the department also conducts valued-added courses aligned with the needs of the IT industry. The department organises an induction programme for first year students to introduce them to the credit system. The department conducts different competitions like Poster Competitions, Blind coding, Quiz Competition, and Seminar Competitions etc. under the heading of BCA fiesta. The department invites eminent personalities and industry experts as resource persons for guest lectures to keep students updated on the latest trends in tech and industry. Students also participate in various inter-collegiate competitions. The department also organizes training and online tests on Programming languages like C , C++ from spoken tutorials, IIT Bombay through National Mission on Education launched by MHRD. Guest Lecture was organized on “Career opportunities in Java” for the students of T.Y.B.C.A (Science). The key note speaker for the lecture was Mr. Rashid Husain, Senior Java Developer, Barclays Pvt. Ltd. Widely believed to be the ‘most reliable programming language’ in the developer community, Java continues to grow in usage and popularity. This has a telling implication on Java career opportunities with demand for Java developers expected to sustain in the years to come.

The Department of BCA (Science) had organized a Fresher’s party for the batch of academic year 2019-20. The Fresher’s party was cherished with entertaining games for fresher’s and staff members, group dance, singing, etc. As the mercury began to rise, the dance floor was left for some unbridled energy. Joy and happiness was seen illuminating from the faces of everyone. After sometimes snacks were served by the volunteers taking care of each and everyone received it. All the students were having their time of lives. Mr and Ms freshers game was introduced as a talent showcase for the freshers.

Abeda Inamdar Senior College the Department Of BBA CA and BCA (Science) conducted a one week online FDP for its teachers on “Effective Teaching and Learning Through ICT tools” from 16th May 2020 to 22nd May 2020. It was a seven day online FDP. Each day had two sessions. Session -1 (11am To 11:40 am) and Session -2 (11:45am To 12.30pm). The aim of FDP was skill enhancement of teachers so as to help them with useful teaching aids. It covered a wide range of online tools.
