The Department of Computer Application under the science faculty was established in 2017. The department strives to mould students into academically competent and professionally motivated individuals equipped with the right skills and values that foster a scientific temper along with a sense of social responsibility. The aim is to provide students with an education that will prepare them for careers as software and IT professionals. The department has highly qualified faculty and excellent infrastructure. The BCA program is a three year course that combines Computer and Applied subjects from the Science stream. The syllabus incorporates current trends in the field of Information Technology namely Python Programming, R Programming , Advanced Java, Data Analytics, Network Security, Android Programming, Internet of Things(IoT) etc. Adding to the university curriculum, the department also conducts valued-added courses aligned with the needs of the IT industry. The department organises an induction programme for first year students to introduce them to the credit system. The department conducts different competitions like Poster Competitions, Blind coding, Quiz Competition, and Seminar Competitions etc. under the heading of BCA fiesta. The department invites eminent personalities and industry experts as resource persons for guest lectures to keep students updated on the latest trends in tech and industry. Students also participate in various inter-collegiate competitions. The department also organizes training and online tests on Programming languages like C , C++ from spoken tutorials, IIT Bombay through National Mission on Education launched by MHRD.
